Microsoft Teams Camera Test
Test your camera here to rule out hardware problems before you join a Teams call. This guide uses our free webcam test.
Press start and allow camera access.
Fix the camera in Microsoft Teams
- Choose the camera. In Teams open Settings → Devices and pick your camera under Camera. A preview should appear.
- Check the pre-join screen. Turn the camera switch on before you click Join now.
- Teams in a browser. Allow the camera when the browser asks. If you blocked it earlier, click the padlock next to the address bar and reset the camera permission.
- Update Teams from your profile menu → Check for updates, then restart the app.
- Close competing apps such as Zoom or the Windows Camera app.
- Work or school account. Some organisations restrict the camera by policy. If the test above works but Teams does not, ask your IT team.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Teams say it can't find my camera?
The camera may be disabled in Windows privacy settings, in use by another app, or blocked by a work policy. If the test above shows video, the hardware is fine.
Can I test before joining a meeting?
Yes. Use this page any time. It does not need a Teams account.
