CheckMyGadget offers simple, free tools to check whether your computer, phone and accessories are working. There is no signup and nothing to download.

How the tests work

Every test runs inside your web browser using standard browser features: the camera and microphone APIs, Web Audio, keyboard and pointer events, and the Gamepad API. Your video, audio and key presses are processed on your own device and are never uploaded, recorded or stored.

What we cover

Microphone, webcam, speakers and headphones, keyboard, mouse, screen, controller and touchscreen tests, each with plain-language fixes for the most common problems on Windows, Mac, phones and popular apps like Zoom, Teams and Discord.

Accuracy

Online tests can only report what your browser can see. Some system keys and hardware details are hidden from websites, and we say so on each page rather than guess. Guides are reviewed and updated as operating systems and apps change.
