Button numbers on the test
Browsers use a standard layout. These are the common button numbers.
- 0 / 1 / 2 / 3: A, B, X, Y on Xbox. Cross, Circle, Square, Triangle on PlayStation.
- 4 / 5: LB and RB on Xbox. L1 and R1 on PlayStation.
- 6 / 7: The left and right triggers (LT/RT on Xbox, L2/R2 on PlayStation). They show a value from 0 to 1, so you can see how far they press.
- 8 / 9: Back/View and Start/Menu on Xbox. Share/Create and Options on PlayStation.
- 10 / 11: Pressing in the left and right sticks (L3 and R3).
- 12 / 13 / 14 / 15: D-pad up, down, left, right.
- 16: Home, Guide or PS button.
Connect your controller
- Xbox: USB cable, or hold the pair button and pair over Bluetooth.
- PS5 DualSense and PS4 DualShock: USB cable is the most reliable. For Bluetooth hold PS + Share (Create) until the light bar flashes.
- Press a button after connecting. Browsers do not show a controller until it is used.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my PS5 controller not show up?
Try a data-capable USB cable (charge-only cables do not work), another port, or Chrome or Edge. Then press any button.
Do the triggers show how far they are pressed?
Yes. Each trigger button reports a value between 0 and 1 when you hover over its number.
